My Core Values

These five core values are the pillars I build my life upon: Exploration, Joy, Impact, Freedom and Accountability

They are guiding principles in my life and in my work with clients. Here’s what they mean to me.

Exploration

Everyday is an opportunity to discover and create something new. This could mean exploring new places, new ventures, and meeting new people. But I also look at personal exploration as an adventure as well.  You never know where it’s going to take you and it’s always an exciting ride. Exploring our past, present, and future, and the beliefs, actions, and choices available to us; that is where true personal power resides. I actively engage in my own personal therapy, coaching, clinical supervision, training and further education to allow me continued growth, guidance, and the occasional kick in the butt! To me, it’s important to always keep exploring. I don’t ask my clients to do anything that I don’t personally believe in and wouldn’t do myself.

Joy

Life is entirely too short to live without joy. Nowadays it feels so easy to find things telling us the world is coming to an end and everyone is out to get us. By seeking and celebrating joy, even in the smallest moments, it reminds us of what is possible and why life is worth living. In fact, usually the days where joy is hardest to find, are the days we need this practice the most. I find by making the daily, intentional choice to acknowledge and celebrate the little things, it allows space to create more joy for everyone. And in this situation – more really is better!

Impact

Everything we do creates an impact. A kind hello, a firm boundary, a vulnerable share, teaching what you know, bearing witness when someone needs to be seen. It has always fascinated me how one conversation, one small action, one decision, can change the course of a life and history as a whole. I remember the moment in my teens that I realized I could make a career out of creating life changing moments for others and I’ve never looked back. My passion is empowering people who want to create positive impact. Sometimes by healing ourselves, we really can change the world.

Freedom

Freedom and Accountability go hand in hand. When we are fully accountable for our lives, it creates the freedom to choose who we want to be in the world. Freedom to learn, to grow, to create, to play, to explore, to express, to empower – the list goes on. If we embrace that freedom, it can lead to new ways of dealing with feelings, with others, and with life situations, which keeps us from getting stuck. I continue to pursue training in a variety of methods and modalities to truly meet my clients needs. I want you to be free to show up as you are and know that I can meet you there.  Just like in life – no one approach is right for everyone.

Accountability

This means I do my best every day to walk my talk. That’s not to say that I always get it right, but I believe that my humanity, like yours, is also a huge part of what makes us successful. Simply put – Always do your best. Own your choices. If you make a mess, go clean it up. It’s not about being perfect, but it is about being accountable for what is within your control and letting go of the rest. When you own your story, no-one can ever use you against you.
